Next: Determine Who’s in the Labor Force
We then seperate the Civilian Adult Non-Institutionalized Population into two groups depending on whether or not they are serious about wanting to work.
This gives us a Not-in-Labor-Force group, which includes the retired, stay-at-home parents & spouses, students who aren’t working and anybody else who isn’t actively looking for work.
Whoever is left is presumed to be available to work. We call this the Labor Force.
